Ramp connects with artist Kereama Taepa, whose work explores ideas around identity and belonging. One of his latest exhibitions, Transmission, speaks to the rich history of innovation within Māori culture as he mixes traditional Māori carving with virtual reality and 3-D printing. He has a Masters Degree from Massey University and currently teaches art at Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology in Rotorua.

Kereama Taepa speaks to Aimie Cronin on Zoom about what drives him as an artist, how he stays motivated to produce work, the themes he picks up and weaves through his art and the power of mediums other than the written word to communicate ideas.
