2022 Design Industry Breakfast

7:30–9:00am Wednesday 17 August, 2022

The Long Room / Wintec House

The Design Industry Breakfast is a Ramp Festival tradition, and provides an opportunity for creative presenters, industry professionals, tutors and students to connect with each other over a delicious breakfast. Long standing collaborator Alan Deare of Area Design will ask questions of our presenters about their design ethos, practice with a focus on recent projects.

Our 2022 panellists include Amanda Gaskin and Tim Donaldson of Seachange, a full-service design studio producing thoughtful work that is unexpected, brave and enduring. Also from Tāmaki Makaurau/ Auckland is Tyrone Ohia (Ngāti Pukenga, Ngāi te Rangi) who is the Creative Director and Founder of Extended Whānau. Te Tohu o Matariki was designed by Tyrone in conjunction with Matariki being officially celebrated as a public holiday for the first time this year. They are joined by Turumeke Harrington who is a Kāi Tahu artist based in Pōneke working predominantly in sculpture and large installations.
