Merging Art Practices and Inter-disciplinary Collaborations

Over the past 20 years, art at large has emphasised the nature of multi-disciplinary process to promote collaborations that facilitate the transposition of local concerns onto the world stage. Equally, the overlap of different technologies and scientific domains contributes to the discovery and the diffusion of new areas of knowledge. This on-stage discussion aims to be an eye-opener that encourages attendees to expand their interest in multidisciplinary interactions and cross-disciplinary processes.

The event involves world-renowned New Zealand artists, academics and cultural innovators: Lisa ReihanaDeborah Lawler-Dormer and Jennifer Gillam. The exchange of ideas and experiences will be led by intermedia artist and interdisciplinary curator Julianne Pierce, who is currently the Chair of the Emerging and Experimental Arts Strategy Panel of the Australia Council.

This event is sponsored by the Cultural Committee of The University of Waikato. For more information: http://www.waikato.ac.nz/go/confluences
