Jason Naylor (NZ)
Jason Naylor is a man of many projects. Jumping between employers in an early IT career, he discovered a passion for photography and started a wedding photography business. Within a few years he was earning a full-time income for his family and receiving recognition for his wedding photography, culminating in being awarded NZIPP Wedding Photographer of the Year and speaking at national photography conferences in front of his heroes and peers.
Walking that delicate balancing act between making a living and being creative, Jason was curious how other creatives manage it – how do you make a living from being a painter, a musician, a writer, a baker? He embarked on his latest project, Breaking Art: The Podcast, interviewing NZ artists to discover the alchemy of creativity & commerce – making art vs. making money.
Jason will take us on a journey, linking mathematics to photography, depression to podcasting, problem solving to creativity, exploring curiosity and constraints and ultimately, the art of being a creative.
