3:00–4:30pm Thursday 25 July, 2019

X Block / Alexandra Street

Jill Slaymaker has had an incredible career as an artist, beginning at graduate school in Texas to freelancing as an artist in New York City since 1982.

In this 90-minute workshop she’ll do her best to summarise over 35 years of work and her growth as a painter and text/collage artist, detailing exhibition opportunities in The Philippines, London, New York, New Jersey and Barcelona, art residencies and grants that have contributed to her impressive CV.

Jill will offer insights into career development and the survival skills necessary for a young artist to make it in big cities, before providing an opportunity for you to present your own artwork for feedback and discussion. Don’t miss this chance to show some of your own pieces to an internationally exhibiting artist!
