Roberto Bannura has worked at Steven Holl Architects (SHA) since 2007, being made Director of the Beijing office in 2010.  He oversees the projects developed there, working closely with Steven Holl and the New York team in design matters, while taking charge of the overall client and consultant team management.

Roberto Bannura will present an overview of SHA’s work, focusing on several key projects within the unique landscape of China’s emerging social and architectural landscape. Engaging the fast pace of development and the customary large scale of ventures in China, SHA has been able to respond to specific design requirements while contributing to city-making with the creation of public space and the insertion of cultural programs in large urban projects.

Notable projects from SHA’s Asia portfolio include the Linked Hybrid (220,000m2, Beijing), the Sliced Porosity Block (310,000m2, Chengdu), the Horizontal Skyscraper / Vanke Center (120,000m2, Shenzhen) and the Sifang Art Museum (3,000m2, Nanjing).

This lecture is brought to Spark by the NZIA Waikato / Bay of Plenty Branch.
