Tony Simpson

Tony is a film and television director, writer, and producer with twenty five years in the industry. Trained in television drama production, Tony has worked as a director in New Zealand and as an Assistant Director on big budget Hollywood movies - Willow, The Vertical Limit, and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. 

Kiwi Flyer is Tony's first feature film, which gained critical success on its release in New Zealand. It featured at various international film festivals.

Kiwi Flyer tells the story of 12-year-old Ben who sets out to win the local trolley derby in memory of his father. To succeed he must outwit a local Aussie family who will stop at nothing to keep the trophy in their hands, the school loansharks, and a mother who bans him from the race.
